I remember when I was a wee lad that I was fascinated with pocket watches, accordions, and men with beards. I was either born about 50 years too late to be a French sailor or 50 years too early to be a hipster.

Why Are There Still Republicans?

With wealth inequality at its highest in maybe the last 50 years why aren't there more socialists?

Because America is the land of poor people who, in their heart of hearts, believe they are millionaires who are just a little down on their luck.

Junk Food

I wanted to emphasizes a particular passage from an interesting article . The entire article is certainly worth the read but it got me to thinking that maybe eliminating the echo chamber of social media in my life was only the first step. Now I need to reduce my news consumption. Not an easy task.

February Already?

Its been a terrific weekend.

My number came up on the hold list at the library so most of my weekend was gobbling up this little number; "The Man Who Solved the Market: How Jim Simons Launched the Quant Revolution"

Made some yummers meals for the family

Mark replaced the cam oulets with ones that have a couple of usb ports included which simplified my wiring.

Lots of Laundry

Tried on all my pants and set aside those that dont fit anymore for Goodwill.

Naps

Stopped by the carpet and flooring store to move forward with replacing and updating the back patio carpet. The owner popped over to take some measurements.

Adjusted my wireless water main shut off mechanism and gave the lever a shot of WD-40. Also ran a test on the one sensor I currently have setup to make sure the program is working as advertised and shutting off the water. All thumbs up. And I have 3 more sensors on order for under the sinks in the house.

I did NOT work on taxes. Ill get to it....
